John and Kathryn,

Thats funny. I saw a bee on one of my pumpkins today and thought the same thing. Pretty late in the season for bees.

Hello Richard, we hadn't expected to see a honeybee here, and it was startling to see one of the bumps on the bumpy pumpkin starting to move!  Thanks!

Hello Marney, this was a rough year for us with the yellow-jackets, and the fruit-flies too!

Hello Lee and Carol, they sure had some good looking pumpkins out in our town (and yours too from your photos!), and that bee was sure trying to find the hidden stash of nectar!

Great photo, I was wondering what the first one was until I started to scroll down.  Have a great day!

Hello Jim, it's not easy for me to get a close-up of a honeybee.  As a teen I kept a couple of hives, and with each additional sting, I'd get more allergic and thus, I try not to get anymore honeybee stings!  Have a great one!  John

John,

Either it's late for Halloween or maybe it's out of its gourd and trying to get back in. :)

Hello Steve, it could be that it was out of its gourd, trying to find a way to participate in Halloween!  John

Hello Karen, yes this one caught our eye, and the camera was able to do a decent job of capturing it as well.  Thanks!  John

Hello Bill, it was quite a nice day when that photo was taken.  Perhaps it was just soaking up the last warm rays that the Sun will be giving us this year.

Hi John, You should have done a Name That Photo post for the group with the first photo.  I would never have guessed it was a pumpkin.  Thought it looked like Kraft Dinner.

Great photos, John...you either must have had a camera handy or the bee really liked camping out on the pumpkin and waited till you got back! :)

Hello Jenny, I wasn't sure how common or uncommon the warty pumpkin would have been at close-up.  I had fun catching the shadow of the bee's antennae.  Thanks.  John

Hello Leilani,  I had the camera handy but was not expecting this exact scene to play itself out this way.  Glad you liked it.  John
