Thank you...and I'm so glad my baby owl pic inspired you! I feel so lucky to have seen such a rarity. :)

Kudos to you Leilani. It is not easy to get a photo of an owl as you implied in your title they aren't around in the daytime! Well done.
That is a great photo! It has been a long time since I have actually seen an owl!
Sharon, it was Bob that first spotted him and I was madly scrambling to get my camera out! The little guy was on the fence post at first and flew down to the ground by the time I snapped the photo...I'm just glad he didn't fly away! :)
Gene, this is the first time I've seen a baby owl (he was only about 6" - 8" tall) and he's the cutest little thing!
Tony & Darcy, this is the first owl I've seen in the daytime! :)

He's beautiful, Leilani! Great capture :) I was lucky enough to be invited to join a group of college students and their professor this summer as they studied the 'flamulated' owls in our forest. Got some great shots, and learned alot! Owls are very cool!
Debi
Debi, I'd love to see your owls in the forest shots if you have any available...and yes, even though I'm not typically fond of birds (a parrot bit me when I was little) owls are very cool! :)
Leilani
Hi Leilani - This is the post of that adventure - Flamulated Owls It was very interesting! Did you bite the parrot back? LOL
Debi
Thanks for providing the link to your blog post, Debi...I just re-blogged it! Oh, and I was little 5-year old (at Paradise Park in Hawaii) holding a large adult parrot in my arms like a baby when it reached up and bit my cheek...I burst out in tears, so no...I didn't bite back! :)
Leilani
Great catch, Leilani. I am never quick enough off the draw for these pictures.
Thanks, Jane...I was really lucky that he didn't fly away! :)
I know, Debi...and that's where my fear of birds came from. Owls have very tiny beaks, so maybe that's why I don't think they they are too bad, even though they still are an avian species! :)
