For the month of October in Windsor?  Take a guess? I bet your guess is a raised ranch. Well according to MLS statistic reporting in the Windsor Essex County and surrounding areas - it is drum roll please...the ranch! There were 98 ranches sold in October and the average sale price came in at $175,532. I wonder if this has anything to do with our growing baby boomer population in the City of Windsor?

Well...the raised ranch is not first this month it takes second place with 86 units sold and the average sale price at $197,457. Third prize goes to the two storey with 55 units sold and an average sale price of $197,567. Much better September where the two story came in as the least popular.   Fourth place is the story and a half with 68 of them sold  an average sale price of $111,249. The bungalow hits fifth place with 38 units sold.  This works out to be an affordable option with the average sale price of $75,495 for the month of October in Windsor Ontario and surrounding areas.

On the high end home front (because it is always nice to dream) in the price range of $220,000 to $259,000 there were 39 units sold. In the price range of $260,000 to $299,999 there were 17 units which sold. In the price range of $300,000 to $359,999 there were 6 units that sold. In the price range of $360,000 to $419,999 there were 8 units that sold and 420,000 plus we saw that 7 units sold.  Not too bad for the over $300,000 market place when comparing it to the month of September?  We, in Windsor, will take it.

Here in Windsor Ontario as per MLS stats for the month of October, 2009 the average sale price was $156,145.
