Flat Creek Public Fishing Area: one of middle Georgia’s best kept secrets.

Many residents in middle ga are surprised to learn that there is a beautiful new state park and fishing area right in our backyard.  Opened this past June, the lake is over 100 acres and stocked with large mouth bass, bluegill bream, channel catfish and sunfish.  The lake is now open for fishing either by boat or along the shore.  The boat ramp is easily accessible and there is plenty of parking.  Eventually, the entire area will be an estimated 800 acre state park and wildlife management area.  There is also some new real estate development taking place in the nearby area.
