How do you develop client loyalty to agency?

How and why do clients cling onto different agencies?  We all know the big players such as Century 21, Remax, Coldwell Banker just to name a few.  There are clients that cling to only those brand names and then you have those who want to deal with the local agencies only and will not deal with the big name agencies.

It doesn't matter to me which category you fall into but you work for one of the above.  So how do you as an agent get that client loyalty?  Let's try a few of many and talk about them.

Work performance: of course the best way is to give the client what they want and that is called performance.  Make each client your most important client weather they have a 50,000.00 listing or a 5,000,000.00 listing.  You also treat each buyer the same way.

Dependability: if you tell a client you'll do something then by golly do it.  It's that simple if you tell them you'll be at a certain place at a certain time then just show up.  Amazing concept but it works and you'll start to develop a loyal client base.

Prevent problems: although these are not in order this might need to be on top or second in order of importance.  Talk to your client and keep them informed in each and every step of the selling or buying process.  Don't let them find out about a problem at the closing table.  All issues should be ironed out long before you get to the title company.

Communication: this I believe is the most important aspect of your job.  Once the listing is secured you just can't walk away and not have communication between you and your client.  I'm guilty just as most of you are (not all).  I did say most so don't get excited to those of you who keep in contact with the client.  We at times get caught up in trying to grow our business, get sick, and for me having a (senior) moment where I just forget to do it.

Anyway I know there are more we have not discussed and to do so I would need to write a book but you get the general idea. That's some of the things the big agencies have done to keep that loyal client base.  Want a devoted client base try these and see what happens remember "It's a great day to buy or sell a home."

The basics never change, ayh?  It's good to be reminded of them, but then we all need to put them into practice.  Thanks for the info.

Client loyalty to agency starts at the individual agent first and from there it grows. Some good points
