Patriot's day at the Prescott City Courthouse was both a festive and sobering affair. Those attending carried signs supporting conservative patriotism. Prescott, Arizona which is a bulwark for Conservative views has played host to Berry Goldwater and recently John McCain launching their presidential campaigns from the steps of the Prescott Courthouse yard. There was joyful bluegrass music, and the gentle tones of Prescott's local "Sweet Adeline's" singing group. But there were also stirring speeches as the Conservative base has begun to awake to their freedoms being chipped away. Strong support can be seen from the attendees as the speakers struck the chords of liberty. The speakers included were the following:
Ken Bennett - Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett was selected by Governor Janice K. Brewer to replace her as Secretary of State and was sworn into office on January 26, 2009. An Arizona native, Secretary Bennett was born in Tucson, Ariz. in 1959. He resides in Prescott, Ariz. with his wife Jeanne Tenney Bennett. They have three grown children, Ryan, Dana & Clif, and one grandson. Bennett served in the State Senate from 1999 to 2007, representing Legislative District 1. He was President of the Senate during his last four years in office.
Charly Gullett - a Founding Member of Prescott's Arizona Committee of Safety. He is the author of the books "Cooking Alinksy's Goose" and the "Official Tea Party Handbook". You can purchase the books from Amazon.com
Charly Gullet can frequently be heard proclaiming to everyone he meets, "Get off your butt and vote. Obama was put in the whitehouse by a difference of 8 million voters. There were approximately 24 million conservatives that sat home with their feet up on election day and let this happen to the USA. Register to vote! Do you want to do something for liberty today? Go register someone to vote!" Charly is currently working on a new book the premise of which is to redefine current treason laws to add the definition of socialism as intellectual terrorism. The book is set to hit the market in Februrary of 2010.
Terry Lovell - Professor Yavapai College, Business Administration Charly Gullet claims, "Terry is an Arizona treasure. He teaches business administration at the college, but that is a huge understatement. He is an evangelist for freedom. Freedom to him and myself essentially means individual rights through the rule of law protecting private property. He believes in America and what America stands for."
Alan Korwin - Activist, Author and Publisher. He authored the book 'Gun Laws of America'. Alan, an activist regarding Second Amendment and individual rights, is the owner of Bloomfield Press Publishing which has published at least 20 books.", according to Mr. Gullett. Charly says, "Alan started off by taking a firearms safety class 20 years ago. He was talking to the instrcutor about how complicated the legalities of firearms were. He asked the instructor if there was a place to read up on all the details. The instructor simply said, 'No.' In trying to find a source for such information Alan became the expert on firearms law in the United States, which is no simple task. Alan frequently acts as a legal consultant for national news agencies in the areas of gun rights.
