Point2 Agent Free Trial Offer 2009

Did anyone take Point2 Agent up on their offer in December of a FREE website for a month?

I had a Point2 site for a few years, first free, then professional, then I went back to the free version and then when they announced no version would be free, I no longer had a Point 2 site.

I have two Real Living websites (I only had one back when I had the Point2 site. ) I pay way more than the $9.99 for the second Real Living site and I do NOT have to work on it, update it...   I probably never got comfortable doing anything on the Point2 Agent site.  I found Point2 confusing.  I took the Point2 webinars to learn how to use it, probably when I was paying for a Point2 Professional site. I probably really started neglecting my Point2 site when I started blogging in 2005.Try Point2 Agent Again Until January 12, 2010

In early December 2009 I got an email offering a free trial on Point2 Agent again.  The email came on December 4.... and I could have a free month as a former member.  Or free until January 15, 2010.  It says they "wanted to remind me" so maybe they had sent me an email prior to this one

A month is too short...

Going to their site there is three free months trial available.  That confused me....  anyone can get three free months but I can have 42 days free (If I'd signed up on December 4, 2009.)

Or was it that I had to sign up for a free month before the 15th?  Obviously not clear to me.

Jay the Phoenix Real Estate Guy is very involved with Point2,  he is a Premium Member and a distributor.  His last post on ActiveRain was about Point2 doing away with the Standard (Free sites)  back in March 2009  In

"Point2 Agent Changes Pricing Model - No More Free Sites
" he wrote:

"As of March 9th, 2009, Point2 Agent will no longer be supporting any free Standard Point2 Agent accounts." Edit 3- 2012 Link broken so link going to the error page broke.

Gee it seems longer ago to me...

Jay's ActivRain post linked to a post on Geek Estate blog:

Point2 Agent Changes Pricing Model: Will no longer support free sites

"Personally, I think this is a good move on the part of Point2. There are countless abandoned Standard level sites out there, and this will clean those up. Additionally, as Klein discusses, it will allow P2 to focus on innovation and improvements."

Klein is Saul Klein.  There were no changes to the Premium or Professional accounts on Point2 Agent, when this change took place.

I am not finding fault with Point2 for charging, ActiveRain started charging for RainMaker accounts 5 weeks prior?  There's no free lunch...  The link to the archive is interesting though.  Someone signed in as  Mike D shared the Point2 archive link in a comment on the Geek Agent blog, the Point2 Realty Solution boast that a standard site would always be free.  Point2 Agent Standard Package Always will be Free Archive

Do you have a Point2 site?  Standard?  Professional? Premium?  Feel free to ad a link here I would love to see your Point2 Agent site.

Have there been innovations and improvements in Point2 Agent sites in 2009?

Maureen, I read about Point 2 Agent here on AR but hadn't gotten any further than that.  I have a #1 Expert site currently.  The Point 2 Agent offers are too odd for me.

Maureen, I use Point 2 Agent to augment my marketing.  I have gotten some great leads from it and it does drive traffic to my listings.  I pay the $9.95/mth and it's worth it, in my opinion.

Maureen, I have a Point2 standard site.  I had it free for 6 months, then started paying.  Personally, I like it.  I found it was easy to use and customize (to some extent.)  If I wasn't so cheap, I would probably upgrade to the Professional or Premium.

June show me your site or I will track it down.

I was always confused.  I hated all the fake listings that members would put on and that they would not update the legit handshake listings.

Thanks Susan.  Thanks for the link Pam!

Maureen - I tried the Point2 site.  Started out free....then the change to NOT FREE so I upgraded.  I just didn't click well with the "how-to" and set ups.  The handshake thing was just too confusing.  I don't have a Point2 site anymore.

Hi Maureen - I was one of those thousands of sites unused after set up until they eliminated the freebies.  Btw, the picture in your blog - free clean fill is actually quite valuable!

What is the guys name... who was head of Point2...a number of years back Canadian... nice guy... he actually signed me up for mine... I just got an email saying I had an account.  Then they sent me a couuple of emails encouraging me to set it up.

I think the photographer thought "clean dirt" was funny.
