I read for enjoyment, but I really like to read to have something that'll impact my life. Let's face it...it's a long life. I want to kick it during my entire time down here on earth. Therefore, I really like to stay away from fiction. I do like fiction, but I want stuff that's impactful, not just good drama. I want stuff that makes me want to give it my all in all that I do.
I like reading about how meatheads like me made a decision one day to kick it and have never looked back. Having said that....here's a list of my favorites and the reasons why. I've read 100s of books in my life, but here are my top tier life changers.....and why....give me yours will you?
1) The Bible - Recipe for life....great for any purpose, but I love the building up that comes from this book;
2) The Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews - This is fiction, but the story...yes the story will help you know a myriad of life changing things. It only takes one person to make a difference and it doesn't have to be a genius either. This is a must read;
3) Your Best Life Now - Joel Osteen - Christian bubblegum at it's best. Too bad that some of these guys get such a bad rap. Joel is awesome at what he does....I love his perspectives. Whether you agree with him or not....he motivates. Take the good and leave out the bad.
4) Gifted Hands - Ben Carson - Great true story of the Top Pediatric Neurosurgeon in the world. Raised in the projects of Detroit and how his mother, a single mother, made a decision to make her kids great.
5) The Long Walk - Trek to freedom by Slavomir Rawicz . This is one of the most fascinating adventure stories of all time. An escape from concentration camp in siberia and the 1000+ mile trek down to India during world war I. I actually cried at one part because this wasn't fiction. You'll never complain about your lot in life again.
Tell me you agree, disagree or whatever.....give me your picks. Just give me 1 Monster pick...I'm serious about changing my life for the better so make it a home run. Thanks
I have a ton of others....But these are my starter books
