To Stay or To go If Facebook Starts To Charge a fee?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Crescent Moon Realty, Inc. & Land N Sea Auctions.

Facebook, is rumor to be contemplating a monthly fee of $14.99 a month. This was information that came up for speculation yesterday in the news. The rumor is being denied -but it has many Facebook users debating if there is any truth to the rumor if they will stay on Facebook or return to MySpace.

The possibility of this happening has many Facebook users speculating on if they will stay or go. The question is should Facebook begin charging a fee will you stay or will you go?

Facebook will experience a steep decline in use and membership with a monthly fee like that. I won't be using Facebook any more should they charge that fee.

Ha, ha, ha.  I and millions of current users will be "gone in a flash" if a monthly fee is imposed.

$15 per month? I would MAYBE do it for $15 per year. You will see most people leave Facebook. Then someone else will step in and develop a new site that will be free. Classmates.com charges and they are about finished.

I know that the individuals that I polled about this being something that might happen, and many felt that they would go back to MySpace.

Eric:

I did not know about classmates.com and I agree if the cost was per year yes per month no.

What I feel is a dis-service to it members is that you started out for free on this site and then they want to charge ---- I am not fond of a bait and switch situation.

I don't think I'd stick around either.  I'm rarely on Facebook anyway.  Not worth it, IMO.

I wouldn't mind it if it was a one time fee to stop some of the fraud and fake accounts. This would get those people that sign up just to put out viruses to stop because then they could charge the persons credit card for the fraud.
