Moon Rise over the Atlantic

Jay and I took a ride over to the beach the other night in attempts to catch the full moon rising over the ocean. I think there is nothing more magical than seeing the Full Moon rise.... no matter where you are. I've seen it crest over the White Mountains of New Hampshire and beautiful Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine to name a few places but there is nothing like seeing it rise over the ocean and hearing the sounds of nature in the back ground.

I hope you enjoy my little video. It was shot using the Kodakzi8 and in high winds and sub zero wind chill. Meaning it was mighty cold outside!

Great video, love it. We have enjoyed the moon this past few days... it was huge yesterday morning around 3AM. It was a crisp 19 degrees for us in the So California Mtns today..

Monika - that is spectacular. I agree with you about the moon over the water - I always enjoyed seeing the reflections on the waves.

We had a pretty heavy marine layer that night so the view was not so goo. I admire your willingness to brave the cold to take this. Now THAT is dedication.

Thanks Maureen. I was glad we went when we did because it clouded up last night so I would have totally missed it.

Thanks Kim. It was very pretty. But it was so cold that I dropped my camera twice because my fingers wouldn't work... it was worth it though!

Michael... Braving the cold was worth it!

Monika, I tried to take a picture of our full moon tonight, it was HUGE, but my camera is horrible taking shots in the night. I might have to check into the camera that you used.

What a neat video Monika! I was up really early yesterday and saw the full moon glistening over the snow we received here. Thought how pretty if I could get a pic - but didn't. Glad you were more pro-active!
