I have thought about blogging for quite some time now. The biggest concern was how much time would this involve, and more importantly, do I have anything to say that other's are interested in hearing? Of course, we all have something to say with all the neverending thoughts that tumble through our heads, but actually putting our thoughts down on paper (so to speak), now that's a horse of a different color. Then there is the question, what would I talk about that is relevant? Well, I really love the community that I live in and as a real estate agent I should talk about that and share it with the world. It stands to reason that if people come to visit and decide to make this there home... 'voila', new business. After all, I came for a visit and within 2 weeks had transplanted myself from Atlanta, Georgia to this little bit of paradise, known locally as 'The Eastern Shore'. The downside to letting everyone in on this 'little secret' is that my paradise could be transformed if everyone found out about it. It's funny, when I moved from Georgia we heard comments such as "The best thing to come out of Alabama is I-20" and visitors to our home have indicated surprise that it is so clean and beautiful here. Our white powder beaches are among the best in the world and there are more flowers here than you can imagine. We have malls and high-end stores, wonderful restaurants and art museums abound. Music lover's will not be disappointed either. One has only to walk through downtown Fairhope to find a local musician playing right on the street. For the outdoorsy types, there is fishing, swimming, golfing, boating, tennis and much more. We enjoy a thriving economy as well. Fairhope has been written about in many magazine articles and has been listed as one of the 'Top 10 Romantic Destinations', referred to as a 'Hidden Gem' and noted to be a #1 place for retirement.
So I just laugh when I hear 'those comments' about Alabama. If they only knew what I know. Then again, maybe I'm glad they don't!
This is a view of the Fairhope Pier from the bluffs. Although you cannot see from this picture, the rose gardens at this location are breathtaking.
