Check out Brea's spectacular sport park! Brea's Sport Park

That's right, it's been one year ago this week that Brea's long awaited Sports Park. The grand opening was quite a celebration!

We arrived that morning February 14th, 2009 from all over town to share in the excitement! Seemed like everywhere you looked you saw someone you knew. It was great to connect with friends, neighbors and a few clients here and there.

The sports park has something for everyone, almost every type of sport you could imagine, it's over 26 acres designed for events and fun to share including:

  • 2 baseball fields
  • softball field
  • football/soccer fieldBrea's Sports park
  • practice field
  • 5 batting cages
  • bull pens
  • basketball hoops
  • running/walking loop
  • concession stand
  • playground
  • restrooms

And it's so well located being nestled just at the edge of the foothills in Northern/Eastern of Brea on Birch Street, west of Brea Ball Field Kramer.

If you've not been there been there check it out. If you want to learn more about living in Brea, or Living in So Cal, give me a heads up. Brea has been home to my family for more than three decades.

What a great asset to the community.  We could use something similar in Palos Verdes.

Lynda, It sounds like a wonderful place.  Maybe they should have a 1 year anniversary party as it sounds like the grand opening was fun.

Hi Lynda, A nice set up for the whole area. The place look huge. I would bet that when the economy improves you will read of plans for a Skate park within the park and with all the other things available it is already a very successful facility to provide for everyone's athletic needs. A very nice post. This is a very good photo blog and you should bring it over to our group, the ActiveRainPhotoBlogger group.

Lynda, nice post and great photos as usual. Such a good investment for the entire city/comunity. We all need to get out there and have some fun with sports. I always kept my kids active in sports and they loved it!

Lynda - excellent post about the sports park. It is so nice when communities add complexes such as this. I agree with William that you might see plans for expansion in the future. Great post!

Hi Friends,

So good to hear from you all. And yes, it's a huge place, like I said something for everyone.

William, the city has a skate park in another part of town. The adjacent parcel to the sports park has been set aside for a new elementary school. Maybe some day, not so sure now with the economics of everything.

Lynda looks like there is something for everyone.  Having a place where people can engage in recreational activities is one of the best investment a community can make.
