There are probably more than 8000 reasons why now is a great time to buy a 1st home but the most obvious is $8000 in stimulus program money. If you currently own then you may qualify for $6500 in stimulus money. Details can be found at the IRS website. Rates are at a 40 year low but are expected to go back up. The Stimulus money was already extended from the end of November 2009 till April 30th 2010 so don't ecpect it to go any longer. Now is the time.
