Real Estate is a 24/7 career. On the days I am not showing properties, I get up in the morning and research deals for my clients, update my website, email or call clients, work on paperwork and blog. Then I come home and the internet leads and information requests start coming in. I try to respond and send info immediatly, even late at night. I feel this gives me an edge because studies show that the first person to respond to the lead usually wins. Some weeks just seem to fly and I never stop. However, I do take time to wind down!
My release is music. I play Lead Guitar for a local band. www.cadillacwilly.com
Of course, I enjoy winding down with my kids. A great release is pushing my daughter Ava Kate on the Swing or playing catch with my Son Frank. However, when I am playing with the band, I cannot answer my phone or check my email and it allows me to escape to a great place (at least for a couple of hours). It is similar to being on a cruise when your cell signal goes away. Can you imagine the days before cell phones and internet? When showing properties, I will tell my clients that I am playing and many will come out and wind down with me. It really has been a very positive part of my life.
I feel this release of pressure is 100% necessary.
