Special offer

Are you sure your offer is the best? (Friday's Funny)

WE all deal with the offers and go back and forth trying to get the best deal.  There are times we go to sleep at night thinking we have it all wrapped up, only to find out the next morning that someone outdid you.  This story is a slant on this angle...

During the Wedding rehearsal, the young groom approached the Minister with a strange request..."Look, I will give you a $100 if you change the wedding vows.  When you get to me and I am supposed to Love, Honor and obey and forsake all others, be faithful to her forever...I would appreciate if you would just leave that part out.

He passed the money to him and walked away satisfied.

The next day during the Wedding vows the minister looks at the young man and says...Do you promise to prostrate yourself before her, obey her every command and wish, serve her breakfast in bed every day of her life, and swear eternally before God and your lovely wife that you will never ever even look at another women as long as you both shall live?

The groom swallowed hard, and answered in a tiny voice..."yes."

The groom leaned forward and hissed, "I thought we had a deal."

The Minister put the $100 into the groom's hand and said..."She made me a much better offer!"

Never get comfortable in your deals to early.

Bill, I think I paid 10% above asking for my wedding...in the hopes it was the one and only time I would have to trade up. Great Story!

I didn't expect that ending, William!  I bet the groom didn't, either.  That is definitely sage advice though.  Right along the line of "don't count your chickens before they hatch!"  Because you just never know until the deal is done.

Hmm, the first time we went to the priest and ask him to marry us he said NO.  Ever wonder if you should have taken him up on his offer?
