Teri,

sorry to not answer all comments right now, but I am writing blogs,  I can not handle all at the same time like you guys do, I am amazed how many people write too much and they are on comments and everywhere as they were god ! , one of them is  Sally and Sandra Cummings, that's crazy :P   but I love how they handle everything. I want to be like you gals.

Ray,

Great advice, the problem is a lot of people tend to forget that missing a payment on their largest asset can cost them dearly.

It is easy to get further behind once you miss that first payment. Do whatever you can to stay on top. You have a good list going I can't think of anything to add right now.

Jennifer,

That's true that is the reason that I am trying to write as many blogs as I can about short sales and foreclosures to try to educate consumers what options they have. :) I am glad that I can share information and at the same time learn from many of you.

When it gets to desperation time I say Ebay everything you can! Go clean houses or mow yards. Whatever it takes to get that mortgage paid.

Ray -

Nice post - How about communication with your lender to see if anything can be worked out? P.S. thanks for the mention above - and by the way - you post more than me - I might comment more - but you are always posting! LOL

Sandra,

Communication is another option, but I have seen many people to fail with the lender when they want to communicate with them, lender the most of the time only cares about the money that borrower owes to them. so, I do not know how many people statistically have fixed an issue like this with the lender directly.

also, I have heard that some lenders will help you putting all the late payments at the end of the month and you start from scratch again, the problem it is if the people will really afford the next months.

thanks for your comments and you always help me to write more :)
