Have you ever been on hold for so long, you begin to think about everything else you could be doing? Or you start getting really fidgety and agitated. Ok maybe I'm talking about myself here but what do YOU do when you're on hold? Do you use the time wisely and multitask? Or do you sit and wait and wonder how much longer?
Short sale agents know a few minutes of hold time at minimum is likely when calling banks regarding short sale packages. I have had hold times over one hour and 30 minutes! But I honestly multitask and look at it as an opportunity to get other work done. The other day (while waiting of course) I started thinking about all of the things I have accomplished while on hold, calling banks regarding short sale files.
I have:
Responded to or sent new emails
Made comments to blogs on ActiveRain
Taken other phone calls
Faxed transactions
Worked on other short sale files
Explored Facebook
Texted
Chatted with co-workers about being on hold
Ate lunch & enjoyed the background music
Gone to the bathroom (ok - only in cases of extreme hold times)
Put the phone on Bluetooth and drove to appointments
Shown property (only once)
So short sale agents, what do you do while on hold?
