5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe / Susan Brown, Your Texas Connection, Keller Williams Realty

By

You may have seen this recipe around - I got it from a friend.  It is easy, quick and delicious.  and can cure the chocolate cake craving that seems to strike in the middle of the night.  Enjoy!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

    1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour (that's plain flour, not self-rising)
    4  tablespoons sugar
    2  tablespoons baking cocoa
    1  egg
    3  tablespoons milk
    3  tablespoons oil
    3  tablespoons chocolate chips  (optional)
    SOME NUTS (OPTIONAL)
    SMALL SPLASH OF VANILLA

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.  Add the egg and mix
thoroughly. Pour in the milk  and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips & nuts (if using) and vanilla & mix again.  Put your mug in the  microwave and cook for 3 minutes on high.  The cake will rise over the top of the mug but
 don't  be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, then tip out onto a plate if desired.  Eat!  This can serve 2 if you want to  share!  This is considered the most dangerous cake recipe in the world because we are all  only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the night or day!

Unfortunately, I can't eat sweet things any more and chocolate was my favorite.  Oh well, I can dream, because this looks delicious.

Hi Susan - I've made this before and it was great!  A few years ago, I sent a birthday cake in a jar to my sister in Colorado.  I attached birthday candles to the jar with a note about how to create the cake.  It was fun and she loved it!

Sally - It is fun to make a cake in a mug & it's yummy.

Pam - That's a great idea.  A traveling birthday cake.  I'm going to copy you on that for my family!  Thanks.

Outrageous, and just when my doctor tells me to avoid chocolate. But, I'm showing this to my wife, she has no restriction, no just the opposite. Thank you.

Susan,

I'm new to AR and just found this foodie group today....I'm glad I did. I'm a cookie nut, and love new ideas and recipes.

This is a fabulous idea... I'm going to use it for a fun dessert next weekend. I'm having some friends over and they always expect something special and different from the baker in me. Boy, have I got a surprise for them.
