After my years of floundering through high school and college, I decided that I'd become, just like the army say..."be all that you can be". I got purposed in life and decided to use the skills and DNA that God had given me to do the most I can down here during my time walking this planet. Now I still fail and fall and sabotage myself, but I really have accomplished a lot during my few years since waking up. It is with much fear and trepidation that Ipublicly share my "Life Plan", or shall I say, a portion of my life plan with you. I'm nervous because this is so personal, but it's my hope that this inspires others to achieving their personal greatness that they've been called to do.
Most realtors and lenders walk through life without a plan. They have a dream, but no plan. I fully believe that without a lifeplan you will fail. I have only shared my "Life Plan" with a few close to me, but now am sharing this with others in the hope that this inspires others to get serious and get real about the remaining time that they have on earth here.
Secondly, I have decided that others my inspire me to rachet it up a notch or two. So....having said that, I would encourage anyone who wants to...to share their life plan with others as a way of giving back, being accountable and motivating others. This is only the surface of my life plan, but it's enough that some of you will get the idea and start moving ahead in living their lives the way that they want to. Please share....
UPDATED LIFE PLAN 2007
PURPOSE - My life is a gift from God. It was given to me by Him and I am entitled to his protection as I live in Him. As Christ gave His life for me, I, too, give my life to Him. I am here on earth to shine as a beacon to those in the dark. I am to lead the way He instructs me to lead. I am to follow always. The candle that has been given to me shall always shine and never be placed under a bushel basket. I live assured that my wife, my children and me all partake as heirs to the kingdom and receive eternal life. I live life on purpose looking to accomplish the goals that have been set forth below.
•I. I value my life with Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ died on the cross for me. If no one else existed in the history of the world, I know that He was employed by his father to set me free. I value that and embrace that gift. Likewise, I am employed by Christ to glorify Him. I lust after Christ with a passion like one who lives in the desert craves after water. I seek to be less so that He is more. I develop my relationship with Christ and utilize that relationship to become a "fisher of men." I lead my family first and other's second.
•II. I value my wife, Michelle - "Whatever God has united, let no man divide." They are no longer tow, but one." Love your wife as Christ so loved the church. I value Michelle and spend time daily praising, loving, encouraging, and leading her. I lend a hand and support her in her personal, physical, mental and spiritual development. My actions with Michelle are actions that unite and do not divide. Divorce is not acceptable to Christ, Michelle or me. We pray together and converse together to build each other up.
•III. I value my children. Jessie, Brett, Jake, Grant and Tessa are life created by Christ and entrusted to me. He has a predetermined purpose for each of them. It is my job to help them achieve it. There is no greater gift to children than providing a child with siblings. My wife and I have a purpose. The purpose is to raise modern day knights and queens. The purpose is to raise our children to be heirs of the kingdom. To duplicate and leverage the DNA gifts that God has provided each child. It is my duty to love and nurture and pray for them and their vocation and any prospective spouse that God may have for them. I am to recognize, develop and nurture the gifts that God has place in each one. I lead through prayer and by example.
•IV. I value my siblings, parents and my extended family - I have been blessed by parents who truly loved and love me. They pray and care for me. Although it is my desire that my parents spend more time with us and with their grandchildren, I cannot force them to do so. I respect the fact that they have 4 other children and can only spend a limited time with my children. My parents have taught me loyalty and faithfulness. Through their example, I am loving and faithful back to them. I am to lead an exemplary life that would make my parents proud. I am to utilize the gifts that God has given to me to make them proud. I love my siblings and have been blessed to have been raised with the best siblings ever. I value them and know that because of time and geography, my physical interaction with them is limited. I love my in-laws and, although they do not spend as much time with them as they used to, I value the fact the my children do have grandparents to be involved with. Ilove them for who they are and for the time that they do spend with my children.
•V. I value my health - My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Without treating my body as a temple, I cannot do any of the things in my life plan. I treat my body as a temple. I eat proper foods and proper amount of foods. I exercise and "keep the flesh under." I am in control of having my body submit to me and Christ. I value my health, don't take my health for granted and do my best to protect my health.
•VI. I value the country that I live in and the religious freedoms of this country - I cannot believe that God has selected me to be born in the United States of America. What prompted Him from keeping me from the sickness of Africa, the ignorance of the Middle East or the poverty and loneliness of the Ukraine? God selected me to be born in modern day United States, and therefore, compared to the rest of the world, I must realize that I have been spoiled by God. However, I can get caught up with the gifts that God has given me and be blind to Him. This, I cannot do. I need to use those freedoms to support keeping those freedoms and fight diligently to support those whose job it is to keep those freedoms alive. I support the American Center for Law and Justice and greatly oppose the ACLU and those with similar beliefs.
•VII. I value my Church. I love my Church. I love St. Patrick's Church. I love the education that I was provided with. I love the fact that I can provide the same for my children. I am devoted to my Church and tithe appropriately to keep my church solvent. Additionally, I go to daily mass at least one time per week outside of Sundays. I go to weekly adoration of Christ. I support the Christian church and live by its tenets.
•VIII. I value my business associates - I really love the people who I work with. I value my business partners. I cannot even put into words who grateful I am to recruit and work with the people whom God has sent into my life. I value Rich Brennan and the relationship that God has introduced me too. I'm anxious to utilize his skills and offer my skills to him in order that we can impact the world the way that Christ has designed for us. At Cherry Creek, I am grateful for my superiors who pray and care for me. I hire and work with only the best that the industry has to offer. I am committed to serve. I am committed to their growth. The growth that I encourage enables others to stay with me. I encourage growth in life as well as business and care for my employees and their families. I add value to their life so much that they see the value in working with me. Our relationship is symbiotic.
•IX. I value Humility - While I may be confident, I am not arrogant. I strive to know that I am employed by my boss, Jesus Christ. I do my best to listen to His voice, and to seek His word, to know His word and to seek His counsel. I enjoy the fact that I can learn from others. Others have DNA and gifts that I do not, nor ever will, possess. God took mercy on me and I am always mindful of the fact that it was not me who made me the success that I am today. This humility remains the core of my growth and my core being. This humility help land me where I am today. This humility stays. It is imperative for my continued growth and continued success. I do not have a heart that rebels against God or others who are not like me. I learn from both. In all my ways, I acknowledge Him.
My Mission - My mission is to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. I need to seek (be actively pursuing). I recognize that I have failed miserably in these areas and that God has given me a fresh start. I seize the moment and identify my gaps in life. I seek remedies for the gaps that exist. I play to win. For me to be the best...to be how god created me, I must do everything to win. I will conquer. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
