Gladwin County is located in the heart of Michigan and offers a peaceful setting for those who desire it. It is conveniently located to larger area cities such as Bay City, Midland, West Branch, Clare and Mt. Pleasant. And half way between Detroit and the Mackinaw Bridge for a rather central, yet northern location. The county has thousands of acres of state land, many lakes and rivers for nature lovers, hunters and boaters.
Collectively, the waterfalls can be heard from a distance if the wind is not too strong. This is a pike stream located in Billings Township. In the summer months the creek may dry completely, yet in the spring, it rushes on its way to the Tittabawasse River which flows into Wixom Lake. Approximately 2000 acres of boating and fishing await you on All Sports Wixom Lake.
The constant sound of the waterfalls is relaxing to the soul. It's a great way to start a day this time of year! With the change of seasons in Michigan, we must conform to the temperature in regards to what we like to do (outside) and when we dress to go out. Time to put away the fur coats (Can you see me in a fur coat? No, I didn't think so!), longs johns and moon boots! Jackets will be needed all summer and through the fall! It does get warm in the summer, sometimes almost hot! Rarely will the temperature ever exceed 100 degrees.
