As a service to its citizens and to the planet, Cobb County, Georgia has implemented some great waste disposal programs and clean-up programs.  Mark your calendar and plan to participate!

GEORGIA 'S FIRST LARGE SCALE MEDICATION DISPOSAL PROGRAM A SUCCESS!

Keep Cobb Beautiful, in partnership with Cobb Public Safety, Cobb Water, Cobb Senior Services and Kaiser Permanente of Georgia, offered the first Medication Disposal Days in the state of Georgia for Cobb citizens in February 2010.

Total collections for the three drop off days was 1,425 pounds of liquid and pill form medications, sharps and needles, diabetes materials, catheters, tubing, etc.

KCB is working on a permanent collection program. We hope to have a plan in place soon!

DOCUMENT SHREDDING DAY RETURNS IN APRIL

 In celebration of the Great American Cleanup: Green Starts Here and Earth Day, Keep Cobb Beautiful will again offer a Document Shredding Day for Cobb. This is your opportunity to have household papers securely shredded on site, at no cost to you.

 Each car will be limited to 100 pounds of documents to be shredded. ONLY PAPER PRODUCTS.

The following things are NOT acceptable:

Plastics, Electronics, Cardboard, Large binders with metal rings/clips.

MERCURY COLLECTION PROGRAM

Do you have any mercury in need of disposal? Perhaps an old thermostat or a thermometer is rolling around in a drawer? As part of our Earth Day eco programs, Keep Cobb Beautiful is partnering with Cobb County Water System,to offer a FREE Mercury Collection program.Cobb County will be collecting household mercury for proper disposal during Earth Week, April 19th- April 23rd.

 Dates: M-F, April 19-23
