Move In Services - Before & After Pics

Home Stager with INTERIORS by Charissa LLC

We just finished the first room of my client's first house.  She purchased the dining room furniture rather inexpensively and already had the picture and candleholders that we hung on the wall.  The wreath we used for the centerpiece was purchased at a garage sale and the placemats and napkins came from Wal-mart.  Stay tuned for pictures of the other rooms as we get them done.  You'll recognize them by the bright colored walls!

Charissa, the walls are not to my taste - but from the first picture to the pictures you took with the furniture and accessories - it looks terrific!  Great job.  Betty

This house has been somewhat of a challenge in that every room is painted a different bright color and there's not a flow between the rooms. Trust me, you ain't seen nothin' yet!  My client loves the brightly colored walls, though.  I think that's what sold her on this house.  The homeowners got lucky in that someone who had similar tastes looked at the house because it was not staged to appeal to the vast majority of buyers.  I am a firm believer, however, that you have to separate yourself from your likes and dislikes to create a space that your clients will be happy with.  They are the ones living in the space after all.  We are trying to bring oranges into the dining and kitchen area and greens into the orange living room to merge the two rooms.  I really think it's going to turn out quite nice.  I'm really excited about how the bright blue guest rooom is shaping up.  Those pictures will probably come next!

Nice looking job Charissa.  I love the idea of move-in services and have actually gotten a few calls from new homeowners asking if I did that.  I didn't till I started reading about it on AR and now have incorporated it into all the other things I do.

Thanks for sharing.  You did a great job.  I would have probably played it safe by adding tans and whites.  I know BORING!  You inspire me to add more color. :)

What a refreshing splash of color in a rather neutral industry!  While I wouldn't have chosen that shade of green, it's wonderful that the homeowner likes it.  The dark wood plays nicely with it.  Good job!

I'm usually not a fan of mixing bright red and green (too Christmas-y) but I really like the red accessories on the table. Looks good.

Yes, I agree the dark wood really works well with that color.  It's kind of funky-sophisticated...I probably would have done a rust or dark orange, though, instead of red, for the warm accents.  Looks great though!  Great job...can't wait to see more!

I think that's one of the big differences between move in services or staging to live versus regular home staging.  You really have to consider the likes and dislikes of the client whereas with home staging, you make all the decisions.  My client opted for table linens that were predominantly red, but I think it works.  That shade of green is quite different from the Christmas green.  There are also enough orange accents that it still blends nicely with the orange living room!

Move-in services are some of my most rewarding jobs, especially first houses or condos.  You have to be really creative to work on a budget and with your client;s taste.  Can't wait to see the rest of the house and what you do with those colors!

Charissa,

Beautiful job... I, too, would have played it safe with neutrals.  Great use of color.  This inspires me..

Charissa,
A little dark for my taste, but then it is not about me.  If the homeowners love it that is what matters.

Nice work Charissa!  I liked that the red neutralized the rather bright green walls.  The square-ness of the other details really worked well with the Art & Crafts style lighting....and the candle setting works to add a bit of softness!! Regards-Kathleen
