Leander Cars and Coffee: "Cruise In" every month for: classic, custom, antique, exotic and other interesting cars.

The city of Leander hosts a car rally every month. Leander is about 20-30 minutes from central Austin, so its a pretty reasonable drive. It feels like a short drive if your in a classic car or convertible! The event is called Cars and Coffee and is held the last Sunday of every month from 11:00-2:00pm. John Eagle European car dealer is the main host, but the cars are parked for a block or two around the dealers site in "Old Town". The dealer is located at 200 W. Willis in Old Town. Some of the surrounding streets are blocked off to allow visitors to walk around leisurely to see the cars easily.

I participated last Sunday and had a lovely time. The weather was perfect, what we call Chamber of Commerce weather. I drove my classic 1975 TR-6 convertible and managed to even get a sunburn! Here are a few of the other cars we saw while at the Cars and Coffee event. There were antique cars from the 1930-1950's as well as classics from the 1960-1975. We saw several antique military vehicles as well. While the event is really about cars, there were also many motorcycles. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I did!

The TR-6 is definitely fun, but very small. You have to pack lightly as the trunk is teeny tiny! I figured it was a worthy blog topic because it interested me I figured it might appeal to others too. I was surprised that there were so many people at the event, since it was not publicized in the newspaper or on the local news. Driving to the event a mom pulled up next to us with her two teen sons in back and complemented the car. We told her where we were going and they followed us and attended the event as well.

For all we car folks this is a great hype local post. I am sure people will take the drive over just to see these cars. Did you take these pictures? They are very nice. My cousin had a TR6 and they are tiny, but can they ever corner. Great post.

It was fun and I plan to do it every month or so, as the cars that attend change every month. Yes the photos are mine. I only regret I had my latest listing photos taking up too much memory, so I could not shoot more cars! i won't make that mistake next time!!

Perhaps next month you could meet us there with your lovely wife. Does she like cars?? It is great fun and you could bring your convertible. Taking one weekend day off should not hurt my business too much. Things are jumping right now. I think its due to everyone that wants to take advantage of the First Time Buyer Tax Credit.

When I lived in Houston (many many years ago) the Princess Drive In located downtown had a couple of events each month for classic and antique cars. I used to drive my 1965 Corvair rag-top and always had great fun!
