19 Comments on It's the Worst Day... Since Yesterday...
Karen, that is great! I've had those weeks.....this week was great! Catchy song.
Kay: Yeah, it's a great song. And, really great during the Saint Patrick's Day Week. What a happy sound... and what a happy bunch of guys singing it. How nice to divert one's self from all that's going on... in such a harmless way. Thanks for coming by and commenting. Have a great Sunday !
Karen, yes it does tend to hook you. I enjoyed it and always...well mostly anyway enjoy hearing music I might not have otherwise heard. I could easily fill some of the music groups in AR with music for that very reason, but I'm trying not to monopolize the group.
Nick: I might suggest that perhaps others IN that group... might really appreciate hearing about music that they otherwise might have missed. After all... they just might like it. And... if they don't... they just "click."
Yes... hooked. I will have to look at your profile, and see which Active Rain musical groups you belong to. thanks so much for commenting. Have a great Sunday !
LOL, that is pretty good! I haven't watched that show, I used to watch one of the others though.
And now that you can do the youtube thingy, there will be no stopping you, rofl. Way to go!
Andrea: Yeah... now I can go over to Nice Catholic Girl from Cleveland and try and figure out how to get into some REAL trouble over there... LOL.
Honestly, I tried watching a smidge or two of the other StarGate shows, but did not find them interesting. Not enough personal interplay or relationship stuff for me. I love the character back-and-forth. This one has that.
Now... the show I REALLY like... is The Good Wife. And now... I can tackle posting some of that... in my posts. Lots of subject matter there.
Hi Karen Anne... Now I think you are just showing off that you can embed video! LOL
Steve: Noper... it's just that I really like this song. Mollie T loves it too... maybe because it's by Flogging Molly... although she says she is not too thrilled with that Flogging word.
Karen Anne - My husband is a real fan of Star Gate, but I've not heard this song before. However, as soon as I began playibg it, he perked up, and said, "Don't change that. I'm listening to it."
Christine: OMG... another StarGate-Universe fan. And yes... this song just kind of "calls to me" as well. I am sure it is because of the connection with SG-U... and when it played on the show... right after some pretty major stuff hit the fan.
Christine, I have not watched the previous StarGate series. Too much Sci-Fi and not enough interplay between the characters. This series is different.
I know it may seem like a strange pairing, but my two favorite series... the ones I make sure I watch each week... either live, or in my DVR... are StarGate-Universe... and The Good Wife. Thanks for commenting, and Have a Great Sunday !
Good morning Karen Anne,
You are right it's catching and you find yourself playing it over and over in your mind! Great beat..thanks for introducing this to us!
OMG...love the song!!
Now another tune endlessly rattling around in the dusty recesses of my mind.
This song is fantastic and oh, so Irish. I was born of first generation Irish Catholic mom and a first generation Austrian Jew. So I have both guilt and shame as part of my heritage. I absolutely love the Irish side with its stories and sad, but resigned to live on a prosper attitude. I wake up with the Jewish side making me want to learn more and make more. These two sides are not mutually exclusive. Thanks for share Karen Anne. You have given me a new thing to smile about. The worst day of my life since yesterday is so Irish, but knowing real Irish people that, to them, is just like saying, Paddy, can I have another pint.
Tom: Well... don't just stand there. Get on your kilt, and get out onto the dance floor. It's a great song, and was an extremely fitting song to play at the end of that particular episode of StarGate-Universe.
Dorie: Good Morning ! Yes... catchy, and it fit in with the episode about as perfectly as could be. Oh, you are welcome. Now... I can play video disc jockey... so let's see what else I can come up with. I wonder if I will end up humming it in my sleep. :)
Jim: Glad you like it. Yes... just one more tune to endlessly rattle around in the dusty, spooky, twisted recesses of my mind as well. Except in my mind... it gets to bump into various ghosts, a skeleton or two, and various memories I have tried to put to sleep in there. I hope it doesn't wake them up, too.
Larry: Ah... the blessed Irish. My mother was a Hamilton, and also in her family tree were McGillicuddys and MacNamara's as well. I have to look up how to spell both of those... haven't seen them in print in years.
Larry... guilt and shame... what a great combination. So... that's what puts you in real estate, huh ? My Mom was Irish, German and Welsh, and my Dad was full Lithuanian. I think in one or the other's family tree there was someone who was part basset hound, as well. It figures.
Both my Mom and my Dad raised more than a few pints in their lives... although, damn it, it surely contributed to them both passing in their sixties... much too young.
Now... off to raise a glass of White Zinfandel myself.
Note 1: I just looked the name up, and it comes out McGillycuddy. There are several alternate spellings, but their is a famous "watering hole" in Milwaukee named McGillycuddy's Irish Bar and Grill... and that's how THEY spell the name... so, I'll go with that.
Note 2: In researching the second name, of course there are also many variations, but I found one, MacNamara, that weemed to go pretty far back in history, but, then again, they ALL do. Here is the MacNamara family crest and history... Irish Family Names - MacNamara .
And... I learned something. Again. How scary. It seems that the prefix "Mac" means "son of." So, just as in English... we have Johnson, and Olson, and Ferguson, and many other "son's"... we have "Mac's" in Ireland.
... we now return you to our regularly scheduled program.
This was a great song...Now I can't get it out of my head!!! I haven't watched Star Gate. But I like good SciFi.
