It's been a long time since I've written a blog post, but it seems like all the good topics are covered by people who know far more than I do about things. There is one area I know a bit about and have been studying for almost 30 years and that's Astrology. Some of you give no credence to this age old tradition, and if this is you, read this for entertainment purposes. Maybe, in the back of your mind, watch and see if any of it rings true. For those of you who do give some respect to the tradition, here's a little advice on the current planetary activity and how it might affect your business in the coming weeks.

To summarize in a nutshell what Astrology is (and this explanation, I'll admit, is sorely lacking): The planets have an energetic affect on all bodies of energy, humans included.... think moon affecting tides. Each planet rules/affects an area of life. Currently, the planet Mercury which rules communication, electronics, mail, writing, etc., is retrograde aka not moving forward with full power. Without getting into all the details, it's a time when things tend to go haywire. In Astrology, it's well-known that one should not sign or initiate anything of importance during this phase, as the results rarely end up the way we intended. It's a time when electronics break down, miscommunications occur, items purchased must be returned, spelling errors are common, mail is lost, misinterpretations are afloat... you get the picture.

In real estate, it's not at all uncommon during Mercury Retrograde for buyers to cancel a transaction, loan docs to get transmitted incorrectly, tempers may flare because of misunderstandings, electronic equipment fails, spelling/grammar/math errors are abundant, to name just a few of the things that can go amiss. I'll admit, these things can go amiss anytime, but when the planet Mercury is retrograde, it really does seem more prevalent.

For those readers who are not scoffing at this blog, there are some actions that are suggested during this period (April 18th - May 11th) and they involve going back over something that has already been initiated. Generally I like to think of this time as RE time... relax, rejuvenate, re-order, re-organize, re-connect, revisit, remember, revamp. It's a great time to get in touch with clients whom you haven't spoken with in awhile or clean up and reorganize your office space. For those of you who ARE scoffing at this blog, RELAX and please don't comment, because you're bound to make spelling and grammar errors.
