Bob, I am not sure if you are being funny here or not.  I am a newly minted agent in the Dallas area.  I come to this career after being a commercial photographer shooting annual reports, magazine covers and advertising work, it was a great career and all you can imagine.  I left that career to pursue real estate because in real estate you get to keep the profit from the spoils of your marketing prowess.  This is especially true now and in the future.  Using your personal vision to capture images and combing that with targeted marketing and directed at the real estate market is the surest way to retirement in the way you desire.  At least that is what I am thinking.  By the way, I was elected the co-president of the American Society of Media Photographers in New England for many years.  Most of my friends are still commercial photographers, I can certainly get you some interviews and great people to talk to.  We can get together in another year and decide which one of us jumped the fence in the right direction.  Good luck

You should spend some time in Taipei ...on the way.  Taiwan is wonderful place. It has wonderful people.

VB, welcome back to our side of the world! I know you had a wonderful trip and have enjoyed the bit of it I have seen. Sounds like Dorie would be a great person to talk to to get a handle on the business side of photography.

Bob, It sounds like Larry in Dallas has some ideas for you.  I wish you luck but don't have any inside help for you.

I'm going to assume you're being serious. I don't know exactly where to start, but surely you could sell some photos to travel magazines or web sites?

Vegas Bob, have a safe flight!  We are looking forward to some of your wonderful photos again.  As for the career change, why not?  It is something that you enjoy and are good at, so why not go for it!

Robert - listen to Larry  comment#2 he speaks from experience and first hand knowledge ..... he has walked the mile in another mans shoes  ..... he was the other man.
