2nd annual Community Pride Day Set for May 20th, 2010
The Lincoln-Woodstock Chamber of Commerce announces that the 2nd Annual Lincoln-Woodstock Community Pride Day is set for Thursday May 20th. This day of community clean-up and betterment projects are supported by the Towns of Lincoln and Woodstock, Chamber Members, Lincoln Woodstock Public Schools, local residents and other community organizations.
The day starts with a unique Chamber “Business Before Hours” breakfast at Elvio’s in Lincoln from 9 to 10 am for any volunteers. Teams of high school students will be working in both communities on specific clean-up projects including roadside cleanup, planting flowers, and sprucing up town parks starting at 9:30 a.m. Any residents, community group or business is invited to join in that day with their own projects or projects from the Chamber’s to-do list.
From 11 am – Noon there will be a barbecue at the Community Ball Field concession stand behind the high school. The barbecue is provided by Loon Mountain and prepared and served by the Lincoln-Woodstock Rotary Club. All Community Pride Day volunteers are encouraged to attend.
We are extremely lucky to have a town owned Ski Area, that is open for night skiing, a summer camp, sports courts, and ball field. I spoke with the Gentleman who donated this land to the town, and would like to publicly thank him for all he has done for Lincoln /Woodstock New Hampshire. Robert Marcalus (past chairman of Marcal Paper) has given land to both towns over the years and still checks in with me for occasional reports, Mr. Marcalus is approaching 90 and continues to work longer days than me…my hats off to him for his inspiration. I will take your calls as long as you wish to talk to me sir.
Thanks Bob.
