Now onto the blog:  Nashville Flood Recovery - Monster Debris Processing - 5/24/10

Below is what it looks like when you have massive flooding throughout a major metropolitan area.  This is a distant view of a pile of personal items discarded from many homes in the Bellevue area of Nashville.

Flood Debris 1

For perspective look at the park sign in front and to the left, then the tree behind the pile.  Below is a closeup of the general debris such as mattresses and such.

Flood Debris 2

Below is a closeup of the heavy metal items like refrigerators and water heaters.

So what happens now?  This is a staging area for short term storage as debris is separated, then hauled to an appropriate dump.  The huge trucks below with attached trailers are used to do that.

The lasting effects of the Nashville flood of 2010 continues on as victims try to recover.  This is just one part of the process.
