The Home Staging field is NOT for everyone.  There are certain qualities and characteristics one should have before jumping into this industry and I go into those in a "Is Home Staging for You?" video (see right). 

But I thought it would be fun to do a David Lettermanesk take on this so I'm going to start it and feel free to jump in...

10 . You know you're a Home Stager when you've bought and sold 10 homes in the last 10 years..

9.  You know you're a Home Stager when you secretly arrange the accessories in your friends home while they're not looking...

8.  You know you're a Home Stager when HGTV is a permanent fixture on your TV

7.  You know you're a Home Stager when you're secretly in love with Roger from "Sell This House", Ty from "Extreme Home Makeover" and Craig from Active Rain

6.  You know you're a Home Stager when your earliest memories are of rearranging your nursery furniture...yes this is true for all of us!

You know you're a home stager when you can decorate a bathroom in 50 different styles for under $10 bucks...

Great idea, Audra!  I can think of 3:

You know you are a home stager when you walk into a room with an awkward furniture arrangement and your skin crawls and the hair on your arms stand on end unless you are able to a) rearrange the furniture or b) get the heck out of there!

You know you are a home stager when you shake your head in dismay upon hearing that burying a statue of St. Joseph in your yard is all that is necessary to ensure a speedy sale.

You know you are a home stager when your idea of a fun weekend is visiting open houses and touring model homes!

You know you're a home stager where your favorite childhood toy was your dollhouse (which you re-arranged on a daily basis  but never played with the 'people' that lived in it!)

You know you're a home stager when the only magazines that you find the time to read are Domino, Elle Decor, Metropolitan Home.....

You know you're a home stager when your friends ask your opinion before they buy furniture or make major changes to their house

You know you are a home stager when the first thing that pops into your head upon hearing that someone is visiting a foreign country (Craig in Hong Kong) is "I hope he gets a chance to visit actual neighborhoods and see the interiors of some homes."

Hey Audra

Here it goes, folks don't judge me...you know you're a home stager when you are sitting in church and you want to rearrange the arrangements on the altar. Yes I actually did make suggestions to my Pastor after the service!

Audra, What a great blog and I love the one about the nursery, my first recollection of "Staging" was at my aunt's house when I was bored with the adult conversation and went into her kitchen and cleaned and rearranged it...KEEP ON STAGING and I too love Roger, oh yeah...you too Craig and yes I too am earning lots of Disney rewards thanks to all my prop purchases...LOVE IT

I like and respect staggers, but not everyone understand how important to prepare the home for sale. I always wanted to be an interior decorator.
