What a great bunch of kids my daughter has the privilege to graduate with this evening at 7 pm. A good number of the kids have gone there since kindergarten. My daughter only missed a few grades when we home schooled her for a few years. Tonight at commencement, they will be the final class ever to graduate from Meadow Creek Christian School. As of next year the name will be changed to Legacy Christian Academy as part of a total makeover of the image, location and direction of the school.

Any sporting event you go to over the past few years has been led by a large group of this class, especially the Volleyball and Softball teams, both had 8 seniors on the roster. Their talents will be missed but they left a great Legacy which can be followed including thier 3rd place finish at the state volleyball tourney this year.

More importantly they have been a group that is enjoying life and setting a wonderful example to all who see them in action, whether at work, school, church, plays, or athletics. On any given night 4-8 of them might stop by our home. On one night, I heard several of them come in so I went down to talk and found 6 girls eating breakfast cereal at my kitchen table and none of them were my daughters. Another occassion had one of them baking cookies in our kitchen when we came home. Again without anyone from my family being there.

We were able to take several of them camping last summer down is southern Minnesota. Their favorite part? Seeing the Amish and going to an Amish store. I wasn't sure who was more amazed, the girls seeing the amish family or the amish family seeing 6 girls hop out of our truck.

Congratulations class of 2010 from Meadow Creek Christian! You will be missed.

Having family ties to Meadow Creek, it sounds like an exciting new direction for the school. Congratulations.

Joel and MCCS parents, Annie has loved MCCS and has a great group of good friends.

I have 2 favorite memories I'd like to share:

1.  I loved watching these girls on the volley team.  I know they improved alot!! But the best time I had was when they were in 7th or 8th grade, and they were pushed to play really good teams, and got thrashed all the time. They never gave up.  One game I noticed that the front line was looking intimidated.  During a break I went down and talked to them to give the opposing front line the "the boxing stare-I am going to kill you look."  I promised them that if they would do that, I would buy them the pink Adidas sports bags they all wanted.  The next set they all gave the opponents that stare.  At one point, Lisi Arnstrom caught my eye-and pointed at her stare down look to make sure I saw it.  I ended up giving them a bunch of these bags-cost alot of money. But worth every dollar.

2. Midnight Marauders...  I was the "wheel man." I took some of them on their first toilet paper caper, I did it twice, but then I started counting up how many minor laws I was breaking. It amounted to about 25, so I didn't do it again.  Here's a picture of them. Now, parents if you recognize anybody, like your daughter, lighten up and just laugh.  What an attitude they have and imagination.
