Good Citizens Step Forward

By
Real Estate Agent with Realty USA Southwest, Inc

Thank you to all of the citizens that report vandalizm in vacant homes.  The last several listings we had, we vandalized.  People shoud be held accountable for their actions.

The most recent home, was one our children purchased.  It was their first home.  They were so excited to be moving in.  On move in day when they turned the key for the first time, opened the door, what did they see????  Glass all over the carpet, broken windows, broken light fixtures, and cigarette burns all over the new carpet. What a shock to walk into.  Don't let this happen to you or anyone else.

Thank you though, to a neighbor who spotted the vandalizers and called the police.  These thugs have to be accountable for vandalizing and destroying property.  We are hoping they get punished to the fullest extent of the law.

If you know of a vacant home in your neighborhood, and you see suspicious activity, call the police.  If you are proactive, it will help keep your neighborhood safe and vandals may think twice if they know someone is watching out.

Be a good citizen and protect your neighbors and neighborhood.

Thanks,

Janis Trent

Janis,

Thanks for the post.

When people in their neighborhoods stick together, there's really nothing they can't do.

Janis, what a horrid shock. I agree with Ralph, there's power in numbers, and neighborhoods are stronger when we know and keep an eye out for one another.

That is a great post Janis. We have problems with vacant homes in our area as well. I wish we could get through to all residents that the more pro-active you are, the lower crime will be. I plan to re-post this if you don't mind.
