July 4th is this weekend. Where did the year go?
Before I let my thoughts drift to our upcoming family vacation, I find myself thinking...
"The year is half way over. How is my business coming?"
I write down my production goals each year and post them on Active Rain.
I have had a solid start to 2010, but I am not on pace to achieve my production goals this year...
That is OK. I fall short of my production goals every year. This business is way harder than I expected, and it continues to surprise me year after year...
You can't control your results. You can control your effort.
I post my marketing goal on Active Rain each year too. My marketing is the lifeblood of my business. I judge my own effort by how much marketing I do.
I will write 33 Local Naperville market reports in July and post them on Active Rain, Trulia, and Localism. This will be my third set of reports on neighborhoods in and around Naperville.
I will also be delivering my neighborhood newsletters to my two primary "farm" neighborhoods, River Bend in Lisle and Carrolwood in Naperville...
That is about 70 hours of work. Strictly marketing. In one month...
I want to finish the year out strong. It is critical to be in front of customers today.
