Selling a Home is Still Like Playing Baseball - June 27, 2010

Real Estate Professionals are in the stands. We see the whole market. Changes in property values, historically low interest rates and homes entering the market everyday.

We also see how challenging it can be to get buyers qualified, properties to appraise and so on. Did you know that FHA is now charging higher mortages insurance premiums? This translates in a higher cost to the typical borrower. Additionally, the long term view is that interest rates will rise.

Our clients are on the field trying to make their individual "play" whether it be buying or selling a home. They can't see the whole game. As professionals we receive a constant stream of information from local and national market experts, lenders, appraisers, customers and other agents.

Our customers are counting on us to call in the next winning play.

I always thought that baseball was a thinking "mans" game.  A lot of strategy and knowledge, unlike football where brute force reigns.  Nice to know that Real Estate is a thinking "mans" game too.  A lot like chess and who blinks first.

Liz,

It's all about strategy.  A procedure or recipe that yields a consistent result.  Thanks for your well thought out comment.
