Yes, it smells like a fish market, but that's the charm. The food is super fresh and prepared mostly Cuban style-- with Sazon! We ordered the grilled shrimp and flounder fillet. The shrimp was with parsley potatoes and coleslaw as sides, both of these were very tasty. The shrimp were large and grilled perfectly, they tasted great and I wished we'd had more. The flounder was very tasty and the sauce was really good, we had Cuban yellow rice and caesar salad with it. The rice was great but the salad was nothing to write home about although the freshness of the fish made up for it all. Not to mention the fish spread and crackers before the meal. We enjoyed sitting near the water and enjoying good conversation in a laid back environment. Standouts are the ceviche, shrimp kebobs, conch steak , grilled snapper and stone crab claws. Always house specials available too. One point: The seafood here IS FRESH…extremely fresh. But why wouldn't it be? They're docked right there and go out everyday to catch it! Garcia's Seafood Grille is on the waterfront in a very On the Waterfront way. This is Miami's little secret but with extrodinary taste. The family-owned venture isn't glitzy, pretentious, or expensive. The outdoor terrace view is not of yachts and million-dollar marinas, but of weather-beaten docks and warehouses, of old freighters heaped with used bounty. There are no karaoke nights, saketinis, or salad bars. Garcia's is simply an informal, old-timey fish house with a fryer, a grill, and a market's worth of fresh seafood to dunk into the former and toss onto the latter. There are fish soups (grouper chowder), fish salads (dolphin caesar), fish fritters (conch), fish sandwiches (the signature mahi-mahi), and full fish dinners (including stone crabs when in season) — all preceded by complimentary smoked fish spread and crackers.
