Yankee Stadium

I am a die-hard Yankee Fan, so my youngest son Brandon got me and him tickets to Yankee Stadium for my birthday to the game last Wednesday.  It was my first trip to the new Yankee Stadium, and I was very impressed with everything.  He got tickets for the seats in the Mohegan Sun's Cafe in center field, the dark glass section by the bullpens.

The temperature was hot and muggy, but it was nice and cool where we were sitting.  They have staff workers taking your food and drink orders so that you don't even have to leave your seat.  It was almost like sitting at home and watching the game on a HUGE TV set .......... LOL

Also it was my first time to Monument Park.  I had been to the old Yankee Stadium many times, but had never visited Monument Park.  My advise to anyone going to Yankee Stadium who wants to visit Monument Park, is to get there early and go directly to Monument Park, because if you wait the line will be very, very long.

There isn't a bad seat in the new Yankee Stadium, and even when you are standing in the food lines you can still see the game, because those areas are wide open.  And even if you get blocked out somehow, they have TV sets all over the place.

The experience at Yankee Stadium was perfect, the Yankees won, and I even got to see Mariano Rivera pitch.  The only bad part was the ride home, because of the tornado's that touched down in Connecticut.  The Merritt Parkway was bump to bumper for several miles.  But I got to listen to the Red Sox game, and they lost, so that did made the time go by a whole lot easier .......... LOL

GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!

Don some of my best friends are Sox fans and we have a great time teasing each other.  If you get the chance make the trip down there, they did a great job with the Stadium.

Ed, I spent a lot of time with my kids when they were growing up, and I still enjoy spending time with them, so your right it is PRICELESS.

Bruce, I don't get to do it much but I really enjoy it when I can.

George,

What a fun post.  GO YANKEES!

I haven't been to a pro baseball game in years.

We used to go watch Kansas City every once in a while.. . . don't know why we don't do that anymore.  It was totally fun.

Judi, I don't go to many, but I do enjoy the few I go too.

Kerrie, I hope you get to go, you will not be disappointed.  Plan on getting there early so that you can tour the whole park before the game.

Al and Peggy my Birthday was actually back in March, but this is the game that he choose the get tickets for.  That game was Hard Rock Cafe Pin Day and I collect the Hard Rock Cafe Pins, so it was a double present.

Marchel you are absolutely right :)

Jennifer you have a great view of the game no matter where you are.

Dan you are right.  We have three Major League Parks withing and 1 1/2 hours from us.

Joan it will be my pleasure to add you to that list :)

Nick thank you for the Birthday wish, but it was back in March, but at our age everyday is a Birthday ....... LOL

Hey George -- We here in Cleveland can only live vicariously through you.  One of these centuries, the Indians are bound to win it! :)  I love taking my son to watch the Indians and even minor league Akron Aeros.  A hotdog always tastes better at the ballpark! :)
