Faceoff or BBQ Throwdown: Joe's BBQ vs. Noca's in Phoenix Metro

Joe's Real BBQ in Gilbert AZ  Noca Restaurant in Phoenix AZ

It's a 'walk off', a 'throwdown', a contest, a ???

What does that mean anyway?

For starters, bragging rights. Followed by news, publicity and good eatin'.

In one corner we have Joe's BBQ in Gilbert, Arizona. Joe Johnston is famous for his low and slow- smoked BBQ over pecan wood.

In the other corner, we have owner Eliot Wexler who runs the Noca restaurant. He has picked food fights before.

I have been to Joe's BBQ many times. They food is great, and it is always busy. They offer a free meal only on your birthday, too.

This will be a diner's blind tasting, with platters of hot, smokin' juicy brisker meat to sample. They will also serve the same sides with will include baked beans and onion rings. Yummy already.

So, make your reservations for the fun event. It will be held on Sunday, August 15th.

The location will be held at Noca, and you can get more info at each restaurant:

Thanks for including this mention.  We sure did have a good time going up against Restaurant NOCA.  The event was well received, well attended (NOCA's busiest night ever), and all of us involved had a blast.  The Arizona Republic was kind enough to post photos at http://www.azcentral.com/photo/Entertainment/Events/15840
