I (heart) Eagle Rock!

One of the many things I love about Los Angeles is that you can move into a neighborhood only 2 miles from your former neighborhood and discover a whole new world...new views, great restaurants, and fantastic new restaurants and shops. I lived in West Hollywood for 6 years, which was amazing, especially being able to walk to Sunset and home, and I lived in Echo Park for several years, which has the fantastic "Brite Spot" and the Little Joy (which I'm sure is no longer cool, but it was then), and of course, plenty of live music joints like The Echo. (Am I dating myself?).

But now we live closer to Eagle Rock, and I have to say, I'm totally loving it!

We had to get a smog check and went down to the gas station at the corner of Colorado Blvd and Eagle Rock Blvd. John, the technician, was kind, friendly, competent and fast! So friendly, in fact, that we stood there and had a conversation with him for an extra 20 minutes. Such a nice person, and we really felt like we could trust him. http://www.eaglerocksmog.com/

Then, I decided I needed a facial. Eagle Rock Thai Spa had some good reviews on Yelp, so I decided to try it out. Outstanding 1 1/2 hour facial, with microdermabrasion and head, neck, shoulder and face massage, for a special $65 price (first-timers get the deal). I came home SO happy and my skin still looks great a week later! http://www.eaglerockthaispa.com/facials.html

We wanted a cheap but delicious and kid-friendly meal and decided to try out The Oinkster. WOW. Great food, great price, great hamburgers and sandwiches. Http://www.theoinkster.com

Even the Eagle Rock Target impressed us. Why? The customer service people were actually competent and it seems to be managed well. The lines are never too long, and the clothes aren't all picked through.

There are so many more places I could mention, but these are the ones that just reminded us what a special town Los Angeles is for all its neighborhood diversity. We are starting to really get to know this particular part of town, and I have to say...I (heart) Eagle Rock!!!

Thank you!

Oooh, dance lessons, that sounds great! And one of my friends said, "it's all about Casa Bianca!"
