Random Thoughts Of Turtles And Salesmen
"Behold the turtle
He makes Progress
only when
He sticks his neck out"
James Bryant Conant 1893 -1978
A man who stuck his neck out!
Do you hide in your shell?
Many cower in a shell to afraid to stick their neck out for fear of getting it cut off. A well constructed shell made of the sure an certain knowledge of your field allows you to stick your neck out and make positive progress for yourself and your clients.
Do you reverently practice timatry?
Many confuse being scared with being timed, they're wrong! We're all scared, the timed refuse to face life. "It's not the earth the meek inherit it's the dirt!"
Do you forsake fiduciary?
Many confuse being timed with protecting their clients, they more often than not protect their clients out of the very fiduciary service they contracted for. Clients have no need for a "mud turtle" they could hide by themselves and save 6%! A fiduciary agent should be an aggressive "snapping turtle!"
Do you forsake righteousness?
There is no greater shied, no greater protective shell than being undeniably right. Many avoid such a shield as to great a burden. Thomas Jefferson defined such a shield for an emerging country when responding to the question of why a Declaration he said: "to place before mankind the common sense of the subject, in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent, and to justify ourselves..." Their can be no better protection than being obviously right.
Do things happen to you?
A great man once said "Things don't happen to me, I happen to things!" Destiny is what you make of it not what it makes of you!
Again Jefferson said: "I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it."
The solution is not found in hiding, but in professional education not pulling you head in and tucking your tail between your legs!
