Here's the story on Story, Indiana

Many people visit Nashville, Indiana each year to shop at all the unique boutiques located on the main street stretch.  Brown County is noted for it's rolling hills and scenic area. (The Brown County State Park is located in this area as well.)

Next time you are there, stop by the Story Inn, "One Inconvenient Location since 1851" is their tagline.  It's a quaint village that was founded in 1851 with the grant of a land patent from President Millard Filmore to Dr. George Stroy.  Dr. George Story came from a family of timber harvesters in Southern Ohio.  In its heyday, the village had two general stores, a church a schoolhouse, a blacksmith's forge and a post office.

When the great depression hit (1929-1933) many families abandoned their farms to find work else where.  Story never recovered.  The town didn't change so a visit will bring you back to an example of what living in the 19 Century was like for folks.

The entire town of Story is now a country inn that offers fine dining, catering and lodging.  The once Studebaker buggy factory on the second floor has been renovated into four quaint bed & breakfast accomodations.  A little hint, there's no clocks, televisions, telephones or radios in any of the rooms.  And if you're into friendly "hauntings" you might get lucky enough to see the "Blue Lady" apparition.  Story Inn employees and guests have seen her make appearances since 1970 and is often seen with flowing white robes.

There's a gourmet restaurant which is open Tuesday thru Sunday for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The resturant features qxquisite cuisine which is prepared from fresh local ingredients.
