Going Fishing isn't always about the Fish.

Yea, I know.  Some of you are asking what else is it about.

There is a whole host of different things...relaxation, spending time with friends and or family.   But last night it was about the moon! Yes, the Moon.

We have had a great clear skies for viewing the moon.

Before the rise of the moon I had a chance to admire this setting.  This local farmer has nearly 1200 of Prime lake shore...and would to sell 4 years ago.  ( I tried to buy it).  I envy this setup as it is tucked back off the road.  145 acres or so from what I am told.

Another reason is the wildlife...Here is an American Loon just barely in flight.   I had just seen an otter and was waiting for the thing to hold still, but it was camera shy.

Soon the main event opened the show.  Just peaking over the tree tops it showed it's beautiful head.

It took only minutes to clear the treetops.  As I took picture after picture...(I am glad for digital now) It is surprising how fast it rises.

The Moon rose just to the left of the farm I showed earlier.  What a great place.  So peaceful.

So, yes, tonight was about the moon.  The other wildlife just entertained me until the big event.  I know, a few of you are asking..."Fish, What about fish!"

I hit the lake at 6:30.  I had 8 Northern Pike, 14 Large Mouth Bass, and a few Sunfish to round out the night.

If you are looking for a Lake home and want to have some fun in the process...CAll ME!  I will make it an enjoyable experience!

Wow, I love those shots.  I have a special magical feel about the moon.  That must have been amazing sitting there watching it come up over the lake.  Thanks for sharing.

Steve...When my wife asked why I was going out that evening, I told her to get a photo of the moon.

Reminds me of the first time I ever went to someone's cabin, it was near Isle on Mille Lacs. Cabin owner took me out trolling for pike at 5am. Lake was like glass. Waterfowl flew by, wing tips barely touching the water surface.

Didn't catch anything, but I'll never forget the moment. Reminded me of the Neil Young song Helpless...surely a similar experience inspired it.
