Starting to see some Google success!

I've been working on my own listing my business everywhere I can for the last several years.  I got a website done, and have been linking back to it from all these listings.

I recently made a few discoveries, thanks to a friend, on where Google looks for your listing.  I was missing a lot of the local listings that are nationally recognized.  So I listed my business on them, not thinking anything about it.

We've been getting an increase in calls recently from internet searches.  So I decided to search for us in the Wake Forest area, under Handyman and Home Improvements.  Imagine my surprise when I found that we are the #1 listing ("A" below) for Handyman in Wake Forest!!!  Home run!

I was so excited that I decided to look for "Home Improvements" as well.  We came up on the map there as well, at #7.  Pretty good!  Ironically, Lowe's Foods was also listed at #2.  I removed "Home Improvements" from their unclaimed listing, and Google is reviewing it...I got a good laugh out of that at least, a grocery store under "Home Improvements"!  :)

So finally the work and effort has paid off.  I haven't taken any classes, but I'm encouraged to do so according to what I read here on ActiveRain.  So we'll see...

Do you have any additional tips or tricks that got you there? I keep learning, but don't know it all just yet. If possible, please e-mail me directly.

Thanks, for the post.

Thanks, Debbie!

Kathy, will do.  I'm not an expert, but I'll share what little I know.  Apparently I'm doing something right.

Look for an email next week.

Thanks for the comments!
