Does Cold Snap in Houston = No More Hummingbirds Until Next Year?

Does Cold Snap in Houston = No More Hummingbirds?  My coworkers know I love hummingbirds, and recently one of my colleagues brought in a video of the hummingbirds swarming around their feeder.  I had thought it was too late to get any hummingbirds, but with the information from the people at work I thought I'd try, and so I put up a feeder.

Well, I've had my feeder up for about 10 days.  This morning we had a cold snap and now I haven't seen a hummingbird this morning at all.  Has anyone in the Houston, Tomball or Magnolia area seen a hummingbird today?  I hope they aren't gone until next year.  I really enjoy watching them.

The picture below was taking in Colorado in 2006.  I always have lots of Hummingbirds when we vacation there in Estes Park.  This picture was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Watching the birds is such a peaceful way to start the day.  I have a bird feeder and a bird bath outside of my kitchen window.  I would love to try a hummingbird feeder.  Have you considered a feeder to attract the "winter" birds?

We have hummingbirds year-round here so I went to read up on them at Wikipedia. I had no idea that they migrate south. I guess San Diego is south.

I came home late yesterday evening to find that someone in this household hung a hummingbird feeder right in front of the office window. I didn't take long for the hummingbirds to find it, and they've been having a ball today. We're trying to get pictures, but the birds are not cooperating yet. Maybe as they become more used to the location they'll stay longer each time.
