45 Comments on Vacant New Home on the Market since 2006, now Staged ~ Will Staging Help it Sell?
Hi Kathy ~ Thanks so much for your kind comment and for the feature. I'm amazed you noticed about the tall plant in the dining room, because when I placed it there I thought, "hmmm ... hopefully that will draw a buyer right inside from the front door to see this room ..." (I don't know about you, but I sometimes talk outloud to myself when staging!)
Maureen - the before and after photos show an amazing transformation. Good work. Was the master really only big enough for a queen size bed. The rest of the house is so huge why would the builder have scimped on the master. Still, with your staging, it looks terrific.
Hi Maureen: Four years - incredible but true! There are some lovely houses in our area that were built as spec homes just before the market crashed...some were taken off the market, some are still on...none were Staged. I don't know why, but vacants in this area are just not Staged. My forehead has a huge callous on it from banging my head against that wall...Love the difference in the photos! That alone was worth your money! Happy Staging - Julie
hi Valerie ~ Many thanks for your feedack. The size of the master is a departure from the home's other main rooms, but we think that stging it helps buyers see that it does hold enough regular-size furniture.
Hi Julie ~ I didn't realize that about your area, it's hard to understand why they haven't caught on to the powerful benefits of staging a vacant home. Don't give up, keep pounding in the idea ... one at a time you can win them over! After all, a sale benefits everyone involved, and staging is just one more tool in the marketing bag. Thanks for joining in.
The great room is just absolutely perfect after your handiwork! Just stunning. What great work to add to your portfolio.
What a shame that this beautiful home did not sell in 4 years. The impression is so different now that it has been staged with your talents, Maureen! What a great job!
Hi Maureen, this staging will help for sure. Simple, elegant and sophisticated, bravo!
Hi Kimberley ~ Thanks a lot for your comment, it's much appreciated.
Hi Connie ~ Many thanks. I have to admit, I love adding new photos to my portfolio (or should I say, I love it when my web guy does that for me!!)
Hi Birgit ~ it IS a shame and hopefully now the news will be more cheery!!
Hi Barbara ~ We're keeping our fingers crossed .... update to follow .... thank you!
That looks great. Now Ii am thinking of all my listings that need staging. I need to find a home stager in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Hi Wendy ~ I hope that you'll look for a home stager in your area! You can find one right here on A/R -- or you can check this website: www.resa-usa.org (this is the trade association for professonal home stagers, and their section "find a home stager" will list stagers in your location). Good luck!
Hard to believe someone let a house linger for 4 years. Love what you did with it, I have a feeling it won't last long in Lake Oswego.
Hi Cindy ~ Thanks! I heard from the listing broker today that showings have really increased since the staging (yay) and they're expecting an offer from someone who's seen it in the past few days!
Beautiful job - not surprising the foot traffic has dramatically increase since you staged this home. It won't be long now...
Hi Kristine ~ Thanks for your good wishes. 4 years is a really long time, so we hope it happens soon ...
It is a beautiful home....sitting vacant for four years tells the story that it wasn't being shown at it's full potential. It does now!
Hi Maureen, You always do a superb job and this home is no exception. It looks beautiful. I'm sure it will sell fast. Thanks for sharing and keep us posted.

Hi Shar ~ Showing a home at its full potential includes not showing it vacant, in most cases. Thanks for your feedback!
Hi Chrissie ~ Good to see you here -- you must have been busy lately :-) Thanks for your very kind words. We'll keep you posted, for sure!
Maureen,
As usual your staging and photography are exquisite! Glad to hear that there might be an offer soon... great for the bank and for your stats!
Hi Linda ~ Very nice of you to say, thank you! Yes an offer should be forthcoming, according to my "sources" :-)
