This beautiful new construction home in Lake Oswego, a lovely suburb of Portland OR has been on the market for nearly 4 years!  Now a foreclosure, our Portland home staging company was recently hired to stage it.  With about 3,300 sq ft the home has some wonderful features, but the previous online photos before staging indicated a couple of challenges which we felt could be overcome with proper staging.  We hope that this home will now be more appealing to the target buyer, and are crossing our fingers for a sale!

This previous dining room shot on the MLS didn't show the full size of the room, so after staging it we took 2 photos to give buyers a better idea of the room's size and it's features ...

The great room has fabulous windows that let in lots of light, but without furniture the room seemed more like a huge cavernous space, so we warmed it up with furniture, art, and accessories so that buyers could imagine living there ...

The bonus room has a built-in desk, but we staged it and photographed it to show another use for this room ...portland home staging expertslake oswego home staging company

Perhaps most challenging was the Master bedroom; feedback had been that it was too small when it was shown vacant.  We staged it to show a queen bed, two good-sized nightstands, a tall chest and an accent chair.  Hopefully now, buyers will see that it can accommodate the furniture they need ...

When you're selling your home, make sure that it appeals to your target buyer.  A vacant home just won't appear as warm and inviting as one that's been professionally home staged.  Good online photos help draw those buyers in ... after all, you need as many showings as possible to get the best offer  :-)

Hi Kathy ~ Thanks so much for your kind comment and for the feature.  I'm amazed you noticed about the tall plant in the dining room, because when I placed it there I thought, "hmmm ... hopefully that will draw a buyer right inside from the front door to see this room ..."    (I don't know about you, but I sometimes talk outloud to myself when staging!)

Maureen - the before and after photos show an amazing transformation.  Good work.  Was the master really only big enough for a queen size bed.  The rest of the house is so huge why would the builder have scimped on the master.  Still, with your staging, it looks terrific.

Hi Maureen:  Four years - incredible but true!  There are some lovely houses in our area that were built as spec homes just before the market crashed...some were taken off the market, some are still on...none were Staged.  I don't know why, but vacants in this area are just not Staged.  My forehead has a huge callous on it from banging my head against that wall...Love the difference in the photos!  That alone was worth your money!  Happy Staging - Julie

hi Valerie ~ Many thanks for your feedack.  The size of the master is a departure from the home's other main rooms, but we think that stging it helps buyers see that it does hold enough regular-size furniture.

Hi Julie ~ I didn't realize that about your area, it's hard to understand why they haven't caught on to the powerful benefits of staging a vacant home.  Don't give up, keep pounding in the idea ... one at a time you can win them over!  After all, a sale benefits everyone involved, and staging is just one more tool in the marketing bag.  Thanks for joining in.
