I received a gift from my clients today...

Today I met with some clients of mine that had purchased a home from a new home builder a few months back, and we went today to check the progress of the build as the frame just went up. To my surprise, as I got out of my car, their two little girls gave me a gift. The gift was in a box and they asked me to open it there, so of course I obliged. Out of the box popped a Build-A-Bear and it just so happens that this Bear's name is Cory and he rides a Harley.. go figure. :) I have never heard of a Build A-Bear before, but my wife and children have. I guess us 40 something males are out of the loop on what is cool. :) Little Biker Cory will have a new home on top of my hutch in my Moreno Valley office.

Too cute! You need to make sure to send the girls a photo of him & you doing something for each holiday... This keeps you in touch with the family and shows that you really cared about your "new best friend" It can simply be a seasonal reminder about school starting or time to change the clocks or even the girls' birthdays... Be creative!

That's cool.  We need the income to survive, but the rewarding part of the job isn't always the money like many people think.  Realtors are human too, and I'm glad you were held in high regard.

Praful:  Yes it is, they mention their gratefulness often, but this little gift will be a daily reminder for me as I see it everyday up on my hutch.  Hopefully, it will be a reminder for me to strive for excellence in customer service.

Mellisa: Yep, and I plan to use them.  :)

 

Phil:  One of my first blogs was about handing the keys over to a client of mine that was in her 40's, that had just purchased her first home.  My 10 & 8 year old sons were there and they saw her tears of joy as I handed her the keys... that moment was worth 10X what I received in a commission check.  You are right... it's not all about the money.
