Fall is a gorgeous time of year.

We went for a little drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon, over Guardsman Pass to Midway. It was a beautiful drive. My wife wanted to go and see the leaves. It has been a while since we have been on a drive like that. As we started up the canyon the trees were fairly boring, many had already lost their leaves. We were starting to feel disapointed. But then we got up into the Quaking Aspen trees and things just lit up for us.

fall leaves

The Aspen tree were golden and the sun was lighting them up.

blazing leaves

This hillside looked as thought it was on fire, glad there was no smoke.

We stood and marveled at Nature's paintbrush.

They say that the weather is changing tomorrow, glad we made the drive when we did.

Then the colors changed again

Wow, what a treat for the eyes.

Great drive, fantastic colors, hope you can see some leaves before they fall.

Big Cottonwood Canyon is part of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Hope your fall is spectacular.

Patty, I couldn't agree more. Thanks for your comment.

Stacey, Quite the variety isn't it. I was amazed when I came across the red leaves.

Praful, I have heard about the beautiful falls there. Bring on the photo's.

Debra, It was a great day. Thanks

Kimberley, It is so much fun to share pics on ar. Thanks for your comments.

Joan, It is one of my favorites as well. I like to tease my wife because her favorite season is alway just coming up no matter what time of year. She loves them all.

Phil, Hope I didn't disappoint. Thanks for stopping in.

Sharon, My only regret to fall is what follows. I used to love winters, I guess that was when I got to play in the snow instead of work in it. Glad you liked the pics.

Those are gorgeous photos, Randy! We didn't get the bright colors with the fall foliage this year. I've heard it was because of the drought this summer. The leaves started to turn and skipped the peak period. They went straight to past peak. There were some individual trees that were beautiful, but most were like looking at a watercolor where the colors had run together. Oh, well...next year!

Randy - that is some great photos. We would love to experience the fall scenery in person. Thanks for sharing. Maybe we will have to plan a trip to experience it ourselves sometime.
