Oooohhhh....this is pretty. Alabama is such a beautiful state. We drive through it three times a year on our way to Panama City Beach. Once we get to Paducah, Kentucky we don't want to nap and miss any of the beauty through Nashville and down to Montgomery. Then it gets kind of boring until we get to the beach, ha. MN and WI are pretty too so the only really bad part of our drive is Illinois (don't tell them I said that).

Hi Diane,

I've never been to Alabama but it looks beautiful! The first photo, in particular looks like a water painting! Love the colors! You did a GREAT job with color and documentation about the history of the park and National Forest. Why, I didn't even know there was a National Park!

Thanks for my first educational history lesson for today and thanks for sharing!   :)

Thank you Patricia for all of your kind words.  Alabama does have some beautiful locations to visit and live.   The park was showing its good side the day that I visited.   :  )

Hi Diana - What beautiful pictures.  When I think of Alabama, I never think of fall foliage!  It is rather surprising that you have this much color when you are SOOO much farther south!

Chris, I moved here years ago from Maryland and was surprised myself.  We do usually have some pretty fall colors. It has been so dry this year,  it was not as good as in the past.

Janice, Thank you, it was fun spending the day looking at what mother nature had done for us to enjoy!

Johusa- thank you I hope you enjoyed the pictures of our area.

The only time I ever visited Cheaha was when I was two years old and I don't remember a thing about it.  I really need to take a drive out there and explore this area. :o)

Hi Diane,

I have some boys who would love to cast their fishing rods into that water.  Beautiful!

Ann, it is only a short drive from your Birmingham home.  It is a great way to spend a day.

Lisa, I love to fish myself, I think that is why God gave me a boy.  It is a great place to pack a lunch and spend the day.
