A Home Stagers Quickie Tips~Front Porch

By
Home Stager with Redesign Etc. Home Staging Incorporated in TX

Have you looked at your front porch lately?  Buyers will!  Create a welcoming feel on your front porch.  Paint or stain your front door.  If your lucky you may be able to get away with just a good cleaning.  Clean and polish the front door handle hardware or replace it.  This goes for the doorbell and front porch light as well.  Clear porch of unsightly plaints, pots or old furniture.  Do add some colorful flowers, and if you have a large porch, add a couple of chairs with a small table.  Power wash, and paint if needed after replacing any rotten wood.  Make sure there are no cob webs and check to see if the front porch lights work.  Put out a new front door welcome mat and you're done!

A buyer will be formulating their first opinions when the agent is opening up the front door.

Cindy- love your quickie tips.  And, yes, many front porches here would be a little "scary" .... well at least until after Halloween!

Kathy, here too, some people are going all out this year, and like FL, it's still in the high 80's during the day.  Doesn't seem like Halloween time!

Cindy, the front porch is one of the most important parts of the home to make attractive and inviting.  First impressions are very often what makes or breaks a buyers opinion of a home.

Cindy, great reminder about porches. I love your Quick Tips series. Unfortunately, our porch, too often becomes a dumping ground for all kinds of stuff. I love the look of a nice clean porch with a comfortable place to sit. It's so inviting!

Cindy, I am continuously surprised at the dirty light fixtures and pitted brass entry sets.

Great quick reminder!  I always tell potential clients that curb appeal staging is a must and doesn't have to be expensive!  First impressions really only happen once!

Cindy ... The front is where it all begins.. If the buyer walks up to the home and feels all warm and fuzzy on the front porch...well that sets the mood. Good suggestions!

I live in the woods and not too many people use my front door.  I opened it recently to find it covered in cobwebs.  Nice touch for Halloween, but not the rest of the year!

Cindy, this is an excellent series of posts.  Home staging sold our house so quickly our heads spun.  It is such a valuable service.
