Craig Rutman recently wrote a blog about Carving a Pumpkin, Realtor style. Missing from his post was the critical selection process of picking a pumpkin and then the carving. With this in mind, we went through the full process, this past Sunday with grandson Raphael in charge
We went over to the Pumpkin Patch in the parking lot of St Anthony's Church here in Prospect Ct. There was a wide selection to pick from and it's for a good cause, to fund Mission Hope, which helps the needy people here in Prospect who have fallen on hard times.
Of course with the proper selection, mom has to help a little with here suggestions as well.
Not too small, not too large, a nice round surface and easy to pick up.
This is not something to be taken lightly, after all this is our first time at this and we don't want to mess up.
Once we made the selection. we went over to the Prospect green to see all the contestants and winners from the Prospect Pumpkin Festival.
Everybody knows that it's always wise to check out the comparables before moving forward into the competition.
Then it's off to the house to get started.
Once mom has helped with the knife to make access to the inside possible, then of course we need to scoop it all out. Feels kind of funny and squishy.
Just when I thought I was almost done, mom lets me know that there's still work to do, hands full at a time. This is not as simple as we thought.
Finally it's done! set it out on the porch, and of course, WHERE'S THE CANDY?
Happy Halloween
