It's 1:30 on Tuesday and I have a few more calls to make before I close it up until Monday. Many of you have been in this as long as I have - 25+ years. For the balance of this year, all are playing by my rules. As I rushed to try to schedule my last appointments, what I've missed for all these years finally hit me. If I do rush out to look at some homes and spend tomorrow and part of Thanksgiving writing the reports to meet artificial deadlines, no one will be there until Monday to process them anyways. Better I look at them Monday sending out reports on Tuesday after a well-rested weekend and holiday. And no, for the rest of this year, I can't hurry up your report on Friday afternoon so it can sit in someone's computer until Monday. Before it was lenders, now it's AMCs. I am an independent contractor and will begin to control my schedule. If an AMC has an order with me, expect no more than 1 response on that file per day, if that. I'm getting more and more work at my stated fee from AMCs and becoming more stubborn as to how much control they have on the assignment once it gets into my hands.
