Building a home in Fayetteville NC??  If you are building a home in Fayetteville NC I have a Holiday tip for you!

Building a home is great fun...it can also be a little overwhelming! There are so many things to think about as you go along you don't want to miss even the smallest detail... It is inevitable that when you move in there is going to be SOMETHING you could have done better.  But if you can get MOST everything right then you are ahead of the game.

Stockings Melissa McKinney

I built my home here in Fayetteville NC in 2004 and I had GREAT fun doing it!  The one thing that I would like to share with you today is what I did with my fireplace mantel that I am thankful for each and every year at Christmas time.  It is so important in yu house to have the stockings hung with care and the mantel decorated just so.... If this is something that will be important to you in your new home I suggest you do what I did, put a electrical plug above the mantel! Mine is nestled right up against the mantel not noticeable to anyone at any time.

Every year when I have all the decorations hung all nice a neat, then I step up and plug them in I say to my husband "am I not the smartest women that you know"?! He laughs and says, but of course!! :0)

That is just one of the many tips I can help you with when we search for just the right plan and lot for you to build your new home here in Fayetteville NC!!

I want your stockings to be hung with care each year! Visit me anytime at www.FayettevilleNcHomeFinder.com

What a GREAT idea - I hate having my cords hanging down.  I went to battery operated lights, but they're never quite as bright.

Beautiful! Photos like that might even make me start thinking about Christmas.

Great tip Melissa, especially since it is hidden from view...........hanging cords are unsightly anywhere in the house.

You are one smart woman! I would also apply this smart idea to electrical under each window for those candle (electric) lights. Thank you for sharing!

Eeegads, you and Tish are sickening!  Who thinks of this stuff?  When she built her last house she had all of the outlets hooked to one switch so that she only needed to flip it to turn on all the Christmas lights at once.  The ability to think and plan ahead is just what you need in your real estate agent - sounds like you've got it covered!

Melissa ~  This is a stitch for me to read!!!  CA beat me to it, but when I built my last house at the beach, I made my Builder a bit nuts on a couple of issues.  I insisted there be an unobtrusive outlet under every window which was hooked to one switch so that when I wanted to cut my lights on and/or off, it could be done all at once from every level. Beautiful mantle, absolutely beautiful.

I also had to have a separate outlet installed for my tree, as it kept tripping the service -- that's a whole other story in itself! Got a great "thank you" note from the power company that year!
